How Points Are Calculated

How Points Are Calculated

How Points Are Calculated

  • Points are awarded to the top 7 placings in each event per rodeo.
  • To qualify for Nationals, a contestant must place in the top 7 at least 6 times in a specific event.
  • Qualification is event-specific, meaning contestants must meet the requirement separately for each event they wish to compete in at Nationals.

Year-End Awards

How Points Are Calculated

How Points Are Calculated

  • Points also accumulate toward NLBRA of Michigan year-end awards if the contestant is in good standing.
  • Eligibility is based on:
    • Points from a contestant’s 12 best rodeos per event, plus
    • Points from the year-end rodeo, which are counted at 1.5 times the standard.
  • Each day is considered a separate rodeo, unless it is a double header, which counts as two rodeos.
  • To be eligible for year-end awards, contestants must either:
    • Compete in the year-end rodeo, or
    • Pay the entry fees for it.

Note:

If you compete as a non-member, your points will not count toward year-end awards or national rankings.
